It is well known for its numerous inscriptions and carvings from the 7th to 9th centuries. There are many legends and scientific explanations surrounding this stone monument. Originally triangular in shape, Taikhar Rock was squared off in the 17th century by Galdan Boshigt in honor of his beloved queen, Anu.
