Suvraga Khairkhan Mountain

Suvraga Khairkhan Mountain, a sacred peak, is located in Tsenkher soum, Arkhangai Province. It stands at an elevation of 3,117 meters above sea level and belongs to the mountainous region of the Khangai range. The mountain's lower slopes are covered with forests, while its peak is bare. Just below the highest point, there is a crystal-clear lake. The mountain's distinctive shape resembles a seated person. The Orkhon River flows from the front of the mountain, while the Urd Tamir and Tsetserleg Rivers begin on the east and west sides, respectively.

A legendary stone cairn, said to have been built by the army of Genghis Khan during a campaign to the west, is located atop the neighboring Jaran Tsunkhleg mountain. It is believed that men who climb Suvraga Khairkhan to pay homage will be blessed with good fortune and protection for three years. Each year, from July 15 to August 25, many pilgrims ascend the mountain to perform rituals.
