Ikh Darkhan Mountain

Darkhan Mountain is a sacred and pristine mountain consisting of two parts called Ikh Darkhan (Great Darkhan) and Baga Darkhan (Lesser Darkhan), located at the boundary of Sharyn Gol and Khongor soums, at the foothills of the branch great mountains of the Khentii mountain range. The people of this area and the monks of the “Mergen Dayanchiin Monastery,” established in 1704, have worshipped Darkhan Khairkhan Mountain for more than 300 years. This mountain is a special sacred mountain with forests, rare wild animals, springs and streams, and ovoo worship sites, forming natural beauty.
