Rock Petroglyphs of Tsagaan Salaa and Baga Oigor

The rock petroglyphs of Tsagaan Salaa are carved in clusters on flat, smooth stones located along the mountain foothills. These petroglyphs extend over a distance of approximately 15 kilometers and are estimated by researchers to consist of around 10,000 images.

The main themes of the images are animal husbandry and hunting. They vividly and clearly depict the wildlife of the time, hunting methods, and the behavior of wild animals. While petroglyphs are found throughout Central Asia and other regions, researchers emphasize that few can match the Baga Oigor rock art in terms of quantity and artistic expression.
